Bread of God
God spoke much to me through the bread-making/inner healing workshop at Panis The Village. So I asked my hubs to attend. He returned home with the bread and kept saying it wouldn’t be nice. He had made a mistake and added too much flour to it.
I cut and ate the bread. Yes, the crust is a bit dry because of the excess flour. But the insides were soft and nice, like those Japanese premium bread. I remembered the baker who taught us bread-making mentioned he gave us premium-quality ingredients to use even though we are beginners.
As I cut and ate the bread, I had a revelation. Christina (the teacher) had mentioned that the bread represents us. Thus, I thought — we might sin and make mistakes, adding excess flour to “spoil” the bread. We might blame ourselves. Or we might think that the bread (or ourselves) is not good enough to share and let others partake. But God made us with quality ingredients. He made us good enough.
Even if we did spoil the bread too much in the process, Jesus came to redeem us and made us whole and good. We are the bread of God by His redemption.
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Psalm 139:14
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.

But ultimately we are just an ordinary bread for the temporal.
Jesus is the bread of life that sustains us into eternity.
Jesus is the bread of God. Truly.
“I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”
John 6:51
